Quarter Midget racing is a fun family orientated speedway class for boys and girls AGED from 8 years to 16 years old.

Quarter Midgets race on oval dirt tracks through-out the North and South Islands with clubs in both Auckland and Christchurch.

Quarter Midgets are scaled down versions of Midgets, with much of the same componentry that is unique to this form of auto racing. You may think these kids don't have the skills to put on a good show but that couldn't be further from the truth. The kids are lapping at just over 4 seconds slower than the F1 midget class with the same wheel to wheel action, there is always some great racing to be seen.

The Auckland Quarter Midget club runs at Western Springs, Rosebank and other tracks around the North Island. The race season runs from October through to Queens Birthday weekend.

Quarter Midgets started in Auckland in New Zealand.  Since then Quarter Midgets have expanded to included being able to register to race at Christchurch, Kihikihi and Nelson.

The Auckland Quarter Midget Club was formed in 1983  by Ken Mullins.

Auckland Quarter Midgets now belong to the The Kiwikidz Quarter Midget club that  was formed in 2006. The club renamed it self to reflect that Quarter Midgets are able to be registered in the North Island at both Western Springs Speedway and Kihikihi Speedway tracks.

The first SNZ track that Quarter Midgets raced on was Western Springs Speedway
