With Ryan Barry the only driver to have already run the track Hayden Guptill, Nicholas Wells and Hayden Greenhaugh were gettign their first taste of Kiakohe dirt.
Friday saw Nicholas and Hayden Greenhaugh get a quarter lap start with Hayden Guptill and Ryan having to chase them down. Hayden Greenhaugh took a brief lead before Ryan then took over. Race three saw Ryan have a mechanical failure off the start and Hayden Guptill took the win followed by Hayden Greenhaugh and Nicholas. He then got up to collect his second place trophy with Hayden winning the first annual Quarter Midget Roundup at Kiakohe Speedway. This trophy will be raced for on the Friday every year at Easter.

Some great racing was had over the day as the faster cars came through the field and in the last race of the day Ryan left no stone unturned as he manhandled and bicycling car with everything he had to try to get around Hayden Guptill. For this drive he was driver of the day for all classes on the day. The race results were the same all day with Hayden Guptill winning followed by Ryan, Morgan, Hayden Greenhaugha and Nicholas(energiser bunny) Wells.

The next weekend saw the quarters return to Patetonga. This wonderful highbank track allows us to run whatever format we want. As per our last visit the format was time trials, two heats a pole shuffle and and feature.
The time trial was run and all cars but Andrew Hanson and Ben LeCren managed to get out in the initial run. With the Hansons chasing and electrical problema nd the LeCrens changing an engine it was decided that the boys go out for another practice. The track was getting better and better so finally Andrew and Ben made their time trails. Andrew topped time trial followed by Hayden Guptill, next was Hayden Greenhaugh showing the benifit of all his laps at Kaikohe, then Ben, Nathan Howard and Nicholas Wells who also was also showing the benifit of the trip up north at Easter by taking four seconds off his qualifying time from his last visit here.
Next was heat one which saw a fastest off the front format, Hayden Guptill made an early pass on Andrew and then checked out for a big win. The battling behind saw Andrew come in next followed by Hayden Greenhaugh, Ben, Nathan and Nichoals.
Heat two saw the fastest qualifiers head to the back of the field. The start saw Nathan and Ben resume their season long battle with Nathan taking the lead. Two laps in saw Hayden Guptill again take the lead and was showing how much he loved this track. He took the lead followed by Nathan, Ben, Andrew and Nicholas with Hayden Greenhaug having a DNF.
Another practice was had while we waited for the arrival of Morgan McHugh.
Next was the pole shufle, First out was Nicholas and Morgan, Nicholas took an early lead and showed great determination to hold on to beat Morgan despite Morgans best efforts. Nicholas stayed on to be challenged by Hayden Greenhaugh who took the win from Nicholas. Hayden then stayed on to have Ben come out and eliminate him. Ben then took on Nathan, Nathan took the win which then saw Andrew come out to challenge for the grid 2 starting position. Andrew sent Nathan off to grid 3 and then took on Hayden Guptill to see who would get pole. A close race was had with Hayden taking pole with Andrew starting off 2.
Next out was the feature saw Hayden Guptill take off ealry and stretch out to another big lead. Andrew made second place his own with Ben managing to pass Nathan for third with Nathan hanging on to fourth, they were followed by Hayden Greenhaugh, Nicholas Wells and Morgan McHugh.
Nathan, Morgan and Hayden Guptill had a three car three lap three race challenge for a bit of fun to finish the day. A great day was had by all and big thanks to the Mount ministocks for inviting us along and the great people at Patetonga for preparing and maintaining a fgantastic surface all day.
The next day saw a keen three cars off to Waharoa for a non points round. Ryan Barry won all three races with Hayden Guptill getting two second and a DNF in the last and Hayden Greenhaugh had a great close third in the first race and and engine failure in the second which put his out for the day.
The next weekend saw a return to Rosebank.
Race one saw Nathan Howard hold off Ryan Barry who tried everything in his arsnel to get past but Nathan held him off to take the win followed by Ryan, Ben, Hayden Guptill and Morgan.
Race two saw Ben take the win followed by Hayden, Ryan, Nathan and Morgan. Race three saw Hayden take the win followed by Ryan, Nathan and Ben with Morgan not finishing. This race between Hayden and Ryan was a great show of wheel to wheel racing and was a prelude to the feature.
With Hayden and Ryan equal on points fastest off the back was drawn again and out the boys went. Ben took advantage of his front row grid and took of to gain a big lead while Nathan, Ryan and Hayden put on one of the best races of the year. Ben took the lead off the start with Nathan, Ryan and Hayden entered trun one three wide. Nathan came out of turn two in front with Hayden making a pass down the back straight, around turn three Nathan and Hayden touch which puts Hayden to the back. Out in front Ben starts to pull away as the other three continue to engage in battle, as Ryan gets caught inside Nathan Hayden makes a pass around the outside of Ryan to put himself up into third. things settle ddown for a laps until Hayden makes the pass on Nathan only to se the three of them again go three wide into one. This tme Hayden comes out in second followed by Ryan and Nathan.
